Blue Money
An individual hand-built steampunk dimmable lamp, with blue illuminated dual USB charging port, built with upcycled, antique or vintage parts including a port bottle box, zombie money box, brass radiator key, vintage bakelite vibration meter (working), brass garden tap, canal barge brass plaque, reclaimed brass doorknob and a brass compass for those that are lost in life. Internally there are three different electronic modules : 36W 12V stabilised power supply, step-down electronics for USB charger and touch-dimmer module.
Touching the base of the key dims an Edison-style E27 bulb to brighten the corners of your bothy. The artwork is about 54cm wide X 34cm high X 17cm deep and has decorative bronze feet, corner protectors and straps.
Blue Illuminated bubbles flicker below the brass compass, which still works.
All electrics and electronics are new. There are three electronic modules. The stabilised switching power supply, the step down electronics for the USB charger and the control circuitry for the touch dimmer. The upcycled white chequered vintage fabric flexible twisted double insulated 3 core 1.5 metre cable is terminated with a white 13-amp plug, which complies with BS 1363. A mains switch is recessed on the left-hand side. An additional spare fuse is included. The other end is terminated with a black IP68 compression TRS cable stuffing gland. Really, we didn’t just make that up.
