Customer Safety

Our products are designed for private use and are not suitable for commercial purposes. Only use the product as described in these instructions.

All our products should be kept away from children and pets. The unit is powered by mains electricity, may be hot and has fragile glass and other parts. It is not a toy nor is it durable to misuse. Keep children away from packaging : risk of suffocation. Keep children away from the lamp, and do not leave them unsupervised with the lamp. Ensure that the kids of the family know that they must not play with this, else they will be put on Santa’s naughty list or will be sold for medical experimentation. Electricity : risk of electric shock. Keep animals away from the lamp! The lamp is not to be used for irradiation of animals, such as poultry, lambs, mogwai (do not give water after midnight) etc. : risk of burning! Do not attempt to open the unit.

This lamp is designed for illumination in dry indoor rooms. It is not suitable for use in damp rooms, e.g. bathrooms. Keep the lamp away from humidity. Do not subject the device to extreme temperatures, severe changes in temperatures, direct sunlight or moisture. Place the lamp at least 20 cm from flammable materials. Always place the lamp on an even and stable surface to prevent it tipping over. Do not allow the device to fall and do not subject it to strong impacts. Keep the lamp well away from heat sources such as stovetops, smoking apparatus or ovens. Ensure that the device is not able to get wet.

Do not touch the lamp bulb during operation, as it may be very hot. Do not look directly into the light source; your eyes could be damaged. Do not cover the lamp, for example with drapes or anything else. This could lead to fire. Check the lamp before each use for damage. The lamp is not to be used when it shows visible damage. When removing the plug from the socket, always pull on the plug and not the cable.

Light bulbs do not last forever, and at some time in the future you may be purchasing a replacement bulb. Please ensure that the correct buld type is fitted. Lamps with a mains dimmer should only use a filament bulb. A large screw base is "E27" and typically requires a 40W bulbe. A small screw base is "E14" and typically requires 25W.

Switched lamps (without dimmer) may use filament, LED or candle-effect bulb at the required voltage. Our low voltage range will normally require a 12v bulb.

Let the lamp cool down completely before changing the bulb or putting it away : risk of burning.

Be careful when inserting and changing the bulb; risk of breakage and therefore risk of injury. When some filament bulbs come to the end of their life, they can blow the fuse in the 13 amp plug. A spare  fuse is provided for this eventuality. Do not move the unit whilst the lamp is on.

The lamp should be switched off when not in use. Before cleaning or if the lamp is not to be used for a long period, unplug the lamp from the mains power supply.
