Flux Capacitor Mark II
It's not so well known that when Doc had the replaced the Flux Capacitor in his DeLorean with the Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor, based on a Krups Coffina Grinder model 223A fuelled on kitchen waste, he had been experimenting with other kitchen materials and had made this interim model that bore aspects of the former and latter devices. This is the Flux Capacitor Mark II, bearing the triangular array of the former and the kitchen theme of the latter, such as Bread Bin and random chemicals found under his sink.
Please note that the device is now unable to bring a DeLorean to the required 88 mph, and the vintage Bakelite ammeter now has a bent needle showing that the unit once produced more energy than the Doc expected. In spite of the 1.2Giga-Watt warning sign, it is unknown if this unit ever produced the full output.
However, the triangular array flickers blue and a blue eerie glow still emanates from below. A remote control operates the electronic lamp within, allowing the unit to be a selected colour or fade through the spectrum of colours in the bottles. An illuminated blue USB socket provides USB power to two devices. A recessed switch allows the unit to switch the incoming power. Coloured light bleeds out the metal vents at the rear casting a pattern behind.
The device is 30 cm deep by 25 cm wide by 33 cm high (empty), or 50 cm high with the 17 vintage bottles.
All electrics and electronics are new. There are five electronic modules within including the switching mode power supply, solid state bulb, lamp remote controller, LED array beneath and USB charger on the side. The appliance is Class I as defined in IEC 61140 and has been tested. The traditional navy blue fabric double insulated 3 core 1.1 metre cable is terminated with a black 13-amp plug, which complies with BS 1363.
