Old Dog Bluetooth Speaker
Unusual steampunk Bluetooth speaker and touch-dimmable lamp, made from an old woofer speaker enclosure.
This artwork also includes up-cycled and re purposed components including old woofer speaker enclosure, 3 car indicators, 2 brass bell pushes, heads, limbs and electronics from many dolls, salt cellar, drawer knob, motorcycle USB charger, vintage novelty hand and a laptop power supply.
The lower rear toggle switch operates the power to the system. The upper rear toggle switch operates the power to the Bluetooth system. When this is switched on a "ping-pong" sound will occur once and a colour-changing ring appears through the front speaker grille. The Bluetooth device "Kolis" will then appear on your audio source, such as mobile phone. When paired the system "ping-pongs" again.
There is an ornate brass knob at the front of the lamp. Touching this makes the level of dimming change. On either side of this knob are two beautiful brass and copper push-buttons. Pushing the left one animates the middle finger of the large hand. This is not to be used to salute a Vulcan, be used as a sex-toy nor an American gesture. Pressing the right button initiates a phrase from a well-known movie character. Please note; "This is not a toy!"
On the left side is a large hand held on a copper pipe which has red illuminated bubbles.
On the right side is a flux-capacitor which flickers blue. Above it is an illuminated and switchable USB charger port. This also has an illuminated voltmeter of the power source.
On the sides, at the lower left and right, are small switches, which each light a red or green lamp within. Through the main front grille can be seen many heads or limbs. Please don't ever speak of this.
A blue glow emanates from underneath from a re-purposed car mirror indicator.
All electrics and electronics are new. There are many electronic modules within including the laptop 12v power supply, switching-mode 3.3V power supply, voice synthesiser module, 3 LED arrays, lamp touch dimmer, Bluetooth system electronics, USB charger and USB Voltmeter. The appliance is Class I as defined in IEC 61140 and has been tested. The black double insulated 3 core 1.45 metre cable is terminated with a black 13-amp plug, which complies with BS 1363.
