Tea Lady
This artwork makes a great illuminated ornament or bedside "Fright Night Light" to lighten your path to the midnight wee, without waking your partner.
It is built from a weathered upcycled tea caddy, doll's head, vintage meter and gas tap (inactive), and has an illuminated USB charger
Green light glows behind, below, from the bubbles below the manometer meter and also from the illuminated USB charger.
The head is illuminated by a switch on the right-hand side, above the USB port, illuminating an internal 1 watt "cob" LED array bulb in a G4 socket. It seems that part of the face has been smashed in and the eye replaced with one that is not hers. What is going on?
The vintage bakelite moving-coil ammeter at the front of the unit, made by Ernest Turner Electrical Instruments Ltd, is about 40 years old and still works.
The unit is 37cm high by 20cm wide by 14cm deep, and is mounted on rubber feet
The artwork is powered by a low voltage supply wall plug. The lead is 1.2 meters long, which can be extended to 2.6 meters with a low voltage extension lead which is included.
