Valve Feast
An individual hand-built steampunk mono-clock and dimmable lamp, with green illuminated USB charging port, built with upcycled, antique or vintage parts including an old clock casing, a Darth Vader candy container, a brass radiator key, a pressure gauge and submarine lighting below.
Touching the base of the key dims a large Edison E27 bulb to brighten the corners of your bothy.
There are six vintage thermionic radio valves (inactive) which glows. One changes colour.
The green illuminated USB charger port, is powered by a stabilised power supply.
The brass buttons are for clock adjustment. The clock does not lose it's time when power is off.
Illuminated bubbles flicker below the manometer.
All electrics and electronics are new. The lamp appliance is Class I as defined in IEC 61140 and has been tested. The burgundy vintage fabric flexible twisted double insulated 3 core cable is terminated with a black 13-amp plug, which complies with BS 1363 and switched with a traditional torpedo switch. An additional spare fuse is included. The other end is terminated with a black IP68 compression TRS M12 cable stuffing gland. Really, we didn’t just make that up.
Please note that most our products have a worn look; more shabby than chic. This is deliberate and we tend to try and maintain a weathered and/or non-symmetrical style. Where antique/vintage components are used, we often do little to change their original look.
The clock keeps time, even without the power. You only need to change the time when the clocks go back/forwards. To set the time, set it when all the digits are different, such as 12:34. Depress and release the lower button, then press it again for each digit. Due to contact-bounce it may jump more than one digit, but persevere. When the correct digit is showing, use the other button to step through to the required digit.
